Free Printable Halloween Wineglass Lampshade

These free Halloween votive lampshades match the rest of my "demented bat" Halloween printables and couldn't be easier to make. Just print, cut, glue and place them over a wineglass. And if I do say so myself, they're awfully cute. But I can't take credit for the inspired idea of placing a lampshade on a wineglass. That came from Everyday Celebrating. Brilliant, I say! My version is very different from theirs, but the idea is the same.

My lampshades come in two colors that match my Halloween invitation, cupcake toppers, treat bag tops and labels and bat banners, so they help provide one more coordinating accessory for your Halloween party.

Lampshade Construction Tips

As I described above, the shades are very easy to make and use. But here are a few tips:

* These ARE paper, so please be very careful using candles in the wineglass. Your best bet (especially if children will be present at your Halloween party) is to use battery-operated votives. I haven't checked but I bet you could get those at your local dollar store, Michael's, Wal-Mart or Target. Second best would be tea lights, which are candles, but they're quite small. You also can use votives, but as I said, please be careful. Embedding them in sand within the wineglass may help stabilize them and make the glass less hot as the candle burns for a while.

* If your shade has a tendency to tilt to the side, just use a small ball of museum gel, Crafty Tack or a similar substance on the side of the glass. That should be all you'll need to hold the lampshade in place.

* If you make the bat banners or treat bags, use the coordinating ribbon on all of them, as I did with the black and white striped ribbon. You could also try using two or three colors.
