Monster Love Cookie Box and Treat Bag

I just fell in love with these monsters from Pretty Grafik (see the link at the bottom of the post to visit their site). I knew I had to make something from them. So voilà: printable monster treat bag and cookie box templates, and a matching party invitation you can find on my Printable Party Invitations site. The bag even does double-duty by having one kind of monster on the front and another on the back, letting you choose which one you want on the front.

At first, I was going to make these exclusively for Valentine's Day by adding "Happy Valentine's Day" text to them. But I realized they could be useful for other occasions, such as:
  • Birthdays (especially when paired with my matching monster party invitation)
  • Mother's Day
  • Father's Day
  • Get Well
  • Congratulations
  • and the ever-popular Just Because I Love You :-)
Please scroll down for the download links, instructions for making the bags and boxes, and to see the matching invitation.

Please note that the photos on this page don't really reflect the colors in these cute bags. They actually contain magenta, in addition to the white and red. Because of a conspiracy between my printer and my camera, by the time the photos made it to my computer desktop the magenta had disappeared. ::sigh:: See the art linked above for the true colors.

Instructions

Here's the short version: Just print one or both designs (one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet each), cut along the faint gray lines and use glue, double-sided tape or Glue Dots to construct them. FYI, I love Glue Dots. I've tried virtually everything when it comes to adhering printables and my consistent experience has been that those paper pieces will stay good and stuck if you use Glue Dots. To finish them off you can just punch holes at the top and tie them with matching ribbon.

If you want a step-by-step tutorial with photos, visit my Shabby Chic Gift Bags page. You'll see that those instructions call for using a glue stick. You certainly can use a glue stick but as I said previously, you'll get better results with Glue Dots. They're just stickier. :-)

Matching Invitation

I just loved the balloons that came with the monsters, so I combined them to make what I think is a pretty cute invitation. You can get it here on my Printable Party Invitations site or by clicking the image below:
