Fall and Thanksgiving Printable Lampshade Template

free Thanksgiving printables

If you're looking for inexpensive Thanksgiving table decorations or fall decor, this wine glass lamp shade template might be just what you need. It's super simple to make and the printable template is free. Just add an ordinary wineglass and a votive candle or battery-powered votive and you'll have a simple autumn table decoration that costs next to nothing. But it will look like it cost much more.

This design also comes with a matching lined or blank Thanksgiving invitation or a blank autumn-themed invitation. I also have another autumn-inspired wine glass lamp shade pattern, which has an overall swirly pattern on a pumpkin-colored background. It has some other matching designs, too, such as 3D pumpkin placecards, a leaf-shaped invitation, leaf cupcake toppers and a turkey placemat. If you prefer the free design on this page, though, just click the link below. And make sure to see the suggestions in the Tips section below for some helpful suggestions and two special surprise downloads.

Tips
  • If you ever wondered how to make a lampshade, this template makes it super easy. Just print the template at 100 percent, then cut around the pale gray lines with scissors. I recommend doing that in bright light so you'll make sure to cut accurately. If you don't have a light that's bright enough, stand by a window and let the sunlight illuminate the paper as you cut it. Once the shade is cut, just connect the ends by overlapping them and using a glue gun, glue stick or Glue Lines
  • Please be very careful using candles in the wineglass. Your best bet (especially if children will be present) is to use battery-operated votives. I found these on Amazon. They're a nice choice because they look more realistic than regular tealights. And they're not that expensive either.
  • If your shade has a tendency to tilt to the side, just use a small ball of museum gel, Crafty Tack or a similar substance on the side of the glass. That should be all you'll need to hold the shade in place.
  • I also designed matching place cards and napkin rings but I just didn't have the energy to do separate photography and posts for them. So as your reward for reading this far, here are the napkin rings and place card templatesI hope they will help make your holiday table extra special. If you like them and you have a Pinterest account, I would appreciate it if you would pin one of the images at the bottom of this post to your account. That will help more people find these DIY decorations.
  • You also might want to use the matching invitations to complete the holiday look. You can access the free invites, which come in blank and lined versions, by clicking the link in this sentence or the image below:

  • There's also a version of the invitation art with no text at all. You can find that here
